Got a new phone or tablet? Do you want to run WLED on your computer? Here are the instructions to connect to your controller.

Phone and Tablet Setup: To connect a new phone or tablet, you will need to create a one time link to the LED Home Lighting controller. Start by downloading the app at either the App Store, for Apple, or the Play store, for Android.

Apple users search for “WLED Native”. Android users search for “WLED”. Download this app to your phone or tablet.

Before connecting the app to your controller, verify that you are logged onto your home’s WiFi network. You will see the WiFi symbol, circled in yellow, in the top corner of your device. When you are connected to your WiFi network, open the WLED app. Apple users, the app will automatically search for, and find your controller which will be listed as “LED Home Lighting”. Select that controller to start controlling your lights. Android users, open the app and select the plus “+” symbol in the upper right hand corner.

The rest of this section is for Android users only. After selecting the plus symbol, select “Discover lights…”. Once it says “Found…lights”, select the check mark in the upper right corner of your screen. You will then see the “LED Home Lighting” controller. Select this and you can begin playing with your lights.

Use WLED for your desktop or Laptop

To control your lights using a computer you must know the Internet Provider (IP) address of your individual controller. This is easily found on the phone and tablet apps. On either Apple or Android, log into your WLED app and under the “LED Home Lighting” controller you will see the controller IP address. An example is shown below circled in yellow. This number is unique to your controller so do not use the number shown below.

Type the IP address from your phone directly into an internet browser window with the periods as well and it will access your controller. Now you can control your lights from your desktop or laptop.
