WLED gets updates routinely thanks to “Aircoookie” and the WLED community. The software is free and so are all the updates! There are two different ways to update your software, follow the directions below for the type of device you are using.
Apple Phone or Tablet
Open the WLED Native app on your device. Select the LED Home Lighting controller. If there is a software update available, you will see a number on the gear in the top right corner of your screen. See the yellow arrow below. Select the gear.
Then select “See Update”, “Install”, and “Done”. This will take a few seconds to install then the system will reboot. Every time the system reboots it will turn on the lights to the default orange color. Turn off your lights and your are finished.
Android and Computer
Open the WLED App on your device. Select the “Config” menu at the top right hand side of your screen. Scroll to the bottom of the screen and select “Security & Updates”. Scroll down and select “Manual OTA Update”.
On the WLED Software Update page you will see your current installed version and in the the most current available version in the as should by the first yellow arrow below. If there is a newer version of the software available, select “release v0.xx.x”. This will open a list of possible versions to download. Search for the ESP32.bin version. In this example it is showing version 15.0 of the software as WLED_0.15.0_ESP32.bin. Select this version and download it to your device.
Once the file is downloaded to your device, select “Choose File”. Browse your device for the recently downloaded WLED version. This will be a .bin file. Select the file then select “Update!”. This will take a few seconds to install, then the system will reboot. Every time the system reboots it will turn on the lights to the default orange color. Turn off your lights and your are finished.
